Lived in Germany for 3 years; discussed staying in Europe

My husband was sent to Germany. I followed him and we lived there for more than 3 years. I worked as a civilian attorney for the Quartermaster Market Center.

My husband and I talked about staying on in Europe. Both of us had developed the notion that we wanted to be involved in the community. Wherever we lived, we wanted to find a place where, through volunteer service, we would become acquainted with the community, be part of the process, and create the environment we wanted to live in.
